Ethics on Internet
With the great power of Big Data comes great responsibility. So far, the conversation around “responsibility” has been around data security and privacy. This presentation will posit that there is another aspect to “responsibility” that should be discussed: the responsibility of organizations to intervene at moments of crisis for the user. The presentation will define “moments that matter” for the user, evaluate potential responses, discuss the ethics of such a response, and present examples of where organizations have successfully balanced data privacy with value to the user at a moment that mattered.
